Reflections on Foundations of SEO Content Writing

Foundations of SEO Content Writing

 A Webinar Reflection Blog

On September 12, 2025, Ma'am Jehan gave a webinar titled "Foundation of SEO Content Writing," which I attended. The main goal of the event was to introduce the fundamentals of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and how it helps make content more effective and visible on today's digital platforms.

Ma'am Jehan gave an explanation of how SEO functions, the importance of keyword research, and how to create content that is both search engine and reader friendly. Additionally, she suggested free resources and gave real-world examples that students could use right away for their own projects.

Key Takeaways: What I learned from the Webinar

This webinar gave me a solid introduction to what SEO content writing is all about. I learned that SEO content writing is not just about creating text—it is about writing for humans while making it searchable online. The speaker explained that content should focus on keywords and keyword research so it can rank high on search engine results, which in turn gives more visibility, leads, and eventually sales.

Ma’am Jehan highlighted that SEO has evolved over the years, with constant adjustments in how content is ranked. This means writers need to ensure their content is authoritative, well-researched, easy to understand, and easily indexed by search engines.

I also learned about finding keywords through free tools such as Google Autocomplete, AlsoAsked, AnswerThePublic, and Ubersuggest. She explained the difference between short-tail and long-tail keywords, as well as informational versus transactional keywords, which was very helpful in understanding how to target specific audiences. During the session, Ma’am Jehan also gave a live demo using Google, showing how keyword searches work in real time. She reminded us not to fully rely on AI tools for writing, but rather to use them as a support while ensuring that the human touch remains in the content.

Turning Insight into Action: How I can Apply The Lessons

I can apply these learnings when I start writing content for projects, blogs, or even social media posts. Knowing how to research and use the right
keywords will make my content more visible and engaging. I can also use the recommended SEO tools to improve grammar, optimize for search engines, and track performance. Most importantly, I now understand that SEO content writing requires balancing human readability with search engine optimization.

Event Highlights: What A webinar Stand Out

I now have a better idea of how SEO functions in practical settings thanks to the examples she shared. Her emphasis on both the technical and human aspects of SEO writing was another thing I liked. The organizers even incorporated an icebreaker game to make the session exciting, which kept attendees interested and prevented them from growing disinterested during the conversation.

Suggestion for Future Improvements

The session was engaging and informative, especially in breaking
down the foundations of SEO. However, when it came to the Q&A portion, I felt that the answers given to participants’ questions were not as detailed or elaborate as they could have been. While the speaker did try to address inquiries, some responses left room for further clarification. It would have been helpful if there were more time allocated for in-depth explanations or real examples to strengthen our understanding.
